I wondered what all the fuss was about when it came to making a movie of Dan Brown's DaVinci Code. Rarely, and I do mean rarely, does a film ever do a book justice. So is the case with DaVinci Code.
When it was first announced Tom Hanks would play Langdon on the silver screen I cringed. Tom should stick to romantic comedies, not murder mysteries, as the DaVinci Code is. By the way, the rest of the casting is terrific, although I would have probably opted out for another Director.
This is one time I must agree with the film critics (very rare indeed!) whom have stated the story on film is too long winded. I did pick five different areas where the film could have indeed been ended, but...it went on...and on...and on...and on...and on. Perhaps you might want to have a nap or a long rest during the day before you see the film.
All in all, not a bad movie, terrible casting on Hanks part, not enough action and no real surprises. 2.3 out of 5
